The three of us heard the anticipated mass for Sunday. We were driving to the church and the moon just looked beautiful. Sky had a hard time peeling his eyes off from the giant and ominous yet magnificent full moon. This was said to be the biggest full moon for 2009.
Armed with his trusty flashlight, Sky went out and explored the outskirts of the church with D right beside him. We think he is a born adventurer at heart.
The following day, we headed straight to the National Museum of The Philippines. The San Diego wreckage and some of the paintings were very nice, most notably The Spoliarium by Juan Luna. Too bad they don’t allow cameras, which we understand since using flash photography negatively affects the paintings.
I myself am not much of an artist, although I did dabble on photography with an FM10 a few years back. D, however is an excellent artist, he paints, sketches and can take wonderful photographs with the simplest cameras. I am thinking of getting him a digital SLR this year – if I see him opening up to technology. You see my husband, is very old school, he still uses his old SLR whenever we go out. I still have a year to convince him to try out something out of his comfort zone.

After wandering around the museum for a couple of hours, we went out and enjoyed the park outside. As usual, Sky went bonkers as soon as he stepped on grass…
The National Museum of The Philippines is open for viewing from Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00AM to 4:30PM. Entrance fee is 100 pesos per person, 30 pesos for students with I.D. and 80 pesos for Senior citizens. For any inquiries, you may call them at (632) 527-0278.

I joined John Silva’s tour in National Museum. It was a worthwhile visit. Gladly I was able to take a few photos of Spoliarium. http://witsandnuts.com/2009/01/25/museum-of-the-filipino-people/
