Connect The Dots.

I have been putting off my trip to the derma for so long – because I hate facials. IT HURTS… However this time I had to go to have my facial warts removed. So off I went to Dermstrata in SM Sucat yesterday and had it DONE. Since, it was really getting itchy and bothersome at times.

After analyzing my face, neck, chest and back under a large, lighted magnifying glass – they tell me I have to pay 3,000 pesos for it, plus 500 pesos for the facial wash and cream I have to apply twice a day, until the scabs fall off.

And I give it a go, since I have no party or event to attend – looking like a sheet of a Connect-The-Dots activity book for a week is fine by me.

What they did first was apply anesthetic cream, to numb some of the pain when they did the electrocautery.  They left the cream on for thirty minutes before commencing treatment.

I thought it was going to be really painful, but it turned out to be a walk in the park for me. It just felt being bitten by DSCN0361very gentle ant every time the attendant ZZZTTT a wart.

After an hour and 10 minutes inside Dermstrata, I walked out in the mall looking like I had measles. People were giving me a second and a third look, but I still smiled back. When the anesthesia wore off, I had a sudden stinging sensation on my face and neck.

I came home and Sky was already asleep. I had the treatment at night. So when Sky woke up and saw me he said “MOMMY? ITCHY? ITCHY?” and touched my face with his little fingers :)

Oh, one of the things that I terribly miss from in the Philippines: my derma. I miss the sophisticated and homey facials there.

Hi! I actually don’t like having facials so much… I tried it twice -but the pain of squeezing out those…. is PAINFUL… Although, I am thinking of getting one after the “dots” are gone… True, our derma’s here are so reasonably priced than anywhere else…

While reading your post, I remembered when Garandee took me to a facial spa and had the facial ladies tie me to a bed to give me my very first facial ever. It was pure torture.

I told her I’ll just buy the most potent facial wash, scrub, cream, whatever just so that I would not need to go through that again. :D

I KNOW… ANG SAKIT – but I think I have to do it again soon. I will drink two ponstan with san mig pale pilsen before I go to the derma. Hopefully to anesthesize me :D

Hi! It took two weeks for the scabs to completely disappear. There were no traces of the treatment… And most importantly, the itchy feeling vanished along with it too! Highly recommended! But, don’t wait for your warts to accumulate – like I did… My warts were embedded deeper than normal – hence it took longer for it to heal…. Hope this helps!

After the removal, they didn’t apply anything. And I didn’t wash my face for 24 hours after the treatment… I did use DERMISOL wash and a cream (which I forgot the name, sowi!) But I bought it from Dermstrata too…

The wart cauterization was soooo painful for me. I don’t know, but the anesthetic cream they put on me didn’t work. Or maybe I had way too many??? I had tears coming down. It felt like someone taking a knife and just scraping them off. I felt like I was bleeding, but of course I wasn’t. Afterwards, my face felt tingly and I was just traumatized by the whole incident. I hated it! Well, it’s been a few days now and my face is full of tiny scabs and their a bit itchy. Can not wait for it to all fall off. I know exactly what you mean by looking like you have some disease. Thanks for putting this blog. It really helps me to feel like I’m not alone. :-)
