After a failed attempt to run a 21K LSD today, I woke up grumpy this morning.
I made good mileage this past week. But I wasn’t too happy with my short 5K last Sunday morning. You see, the hardest for me is the first 3-5K of every run. When I get pass that number and I’m feeling the rhythm in my legs accompany the beat of music in my ear – blend together as one. That’s the time I get REALLY comfortable.
Most of the time I listen to the sound of my feet when I roll on the road. I know when my form is off when I hear a lot of THUD on the pavement. It means I’m not using my hamstrings enough to pick-up my feet again. And when I hear ALMOST NOTHING when I run. It usually means that I’m in good form.
Anyway, I was real grumpy this morning. My throat was a bit sore, and felt like a fever is about to break. And THAT made me feel grumpier… BAWAL MAGKA-SAKIT WHILE TRAINING (I’m not allowed to get sick while in training)… I wanted to run the feeling off for a short run… But changed my mind and got a massage instead.
Glad I went for the latter. Hilda of Wensha Spa Timog did an awesome job of getting the kinks out of my system. I felt revived! And Mrs. Grumpy vanished for the rest of the day.
Tonight, as I write down my thoughts on running; I hear the pitter-patter of rain outside my bedroom window. Looking forward to sleeping now, and begin my day tomorrow early with a run.
And hopefully Mrs. Grumpy will not wake up with me in the morning.
